So...finally I am here at the land of the viking..again. But this time it be different because I will be here for a very long time. Yes..I am moving from the hot and humid tropical weather to the cold and dry Scandinavian weather. After delaying the move for the past 6 years, I guess it is TIME.
How do I feel? Well, I will be lying if I said that I am not feeling sad leaving behind a country that I have call home for my whole life. I am not only leaving my home ground but also people that I care about and who care about me as well as leaving behind all the foods I love! But changes is unavoidable at some stage of our life and there is no point going against it. We should embrace it and welcome it into our life because only by having changes we can improve our own life. And that I will do! Wahaha...
I am feeling scare, uncertain, worry and doubtful about the move but I am confident that regardless what, I will be OK. As He has promise His children that He will be with US no matter where we are and regardless of our situation. Therefore, holding to this promise, I will use it as my guide. I will walk by FAITH and not by SIGHT. Nobody know how our future hold but with the grace of God, I believe we will make it to the end.
First thing first, I will submit my residency application to the municipality office before submit it to the immigration personnel and we will see how it goes from there. I do not wish to stress myself with something I cant control thus, "What will be, will be". Now if I got approval from them...it be a good new year gift for me. Hehhehe....
Then I will start searching for job. I do hope that I will find a job that I love, just like my previous job. I am extremely excited to start working again after 6 years of absent from the career world. It be a new field for me and I am excited to build a career using all the knowledge that I gain from my post-graduate studies. I do hope that I can use my knowledge to practice here and build a name for myself outside Malaysia.
OK. I will stop mumbling now because I need to get the firewood in. Huuhuh....it will start snowing anytime now..adious...

Moving on
After spending almost a month in Kuching, I finally bid farewell to my beloved hometown. Well..not that I wont be going back there again but it will be quite a while before I find the time to fly back to the land of the hornbill. You see..I have been delaying my 'departure' to the land of the viking for the past 6years due to my study. Having married to a Danes, I guess deep in my heart I know, I will have to settle down in the land of the viking sooner or later. Not that hubby doesn't want to live elsewhere but he also has some duty and responsibility to do back home as the only child. This I am well aware when I married him almost 7 years ago. And I even promised him that after I accomplished my dream, I will follow him. So...a promise is a promise regardless what right..
My time in Kuching were well spend with lots of meeting and catching up with my closest buddies. We have know each other since we were 13 years old in the boarding school. Reminiscing about the good old days and what the future hold for each of us truly make us grown closer to each other. Sharing our happiness and sadness with each other is nothing new for us. We were there for each other in our time of needs. Personally, I realized that as we grow older, our circle of friends are getting smaller and I am glad I have these bunch of buddies. It might not be much but these small quantity of friends, is the BEST I can ask for!
I didn't do much catching up with relatives back home ...well, we were never close anyway. What important for me is that I get to spend time with my own family..consist of my parent and brother. Did go and see my grandma but not that she know who I am anyway but I was just doing it for courtesy. Met some of the relatives during my Thanksgiving party at home and that was it. I guess that's enough no...hehehe...I also received bad new when I was in Kuching. My beloved dog, 'Gumok' has pass away due to explainable reason..(although we highly suspected he was being poisoned..).
I wish I can stay longer but I know I need to go. With a heavy heart I left last week but happily knowing that I will be back again next year (finger & leg cross...hhaha). Now I need to come back to KL and arrange some documentation and of course catching up with my KLian friends. Being alone in KL...these bunch of friends has truly keep me company thus bring color to my life here as a 'single married woman'..hahah..

Dogs
I love dogs. Anyone who really know me, know that I love dogs. It has been a while since I last have dog for my pet since my last dog died more than 10yrs ago. I just cant bare to love and having to lose them again. But my parent has dog and they do have lots of them. They originally have 11 dogs!!!! Can u imagine????
But slowly one by one they pass away. Blackie die because of old age. He managed to live until 11yrs, which I think according to human age will be around 88 years old. That's fair enough rite? Tua sudah maa...Then Tikus (yes...my farm dog has very weird name & I have nothing to do with the name giving)...followed by Pebut. We believed Pebut was poisoned, which literally the favorite activity of some psycho human being. Ah...here is Pebut..
Pebut & Tikus have ...errr...many puppies. Hahaha...I lose count. But my mom gave most of it away except for two, Cocoa (big sister..cheche)
And Gumok aka Buffy as the big brother..
Unfortunately, Cocoa die due to poison as well. I just dont get it why people want to poison dog. Might as well shot them. At least they won't have to suffer. So, when the big sister die, Gumok take over the position as The Leader of the Pack as his mother gave birth to her second brood of puppies ( I believe they are six of them).
Introducing.. Dayung..
This is Biscuit because he just like to lie inside the biscuit's plate..
This is Euro as my dad say he look like Eurasian...hahahah
The smallest but yet the most fierce & feisty one...Midget (she always want to lie down near the mother)
This is Snappy...always the bad tempered one..
This is Juroi...
So can you imagine 10 dogs running toward you each time someone go close to the main gate? Hahha...whoever is scare of dog, definitely won't want to go near my house. Taking care of them is a very huge task, and it also means involve a lot of money. These dogs eat at least 3kg of rice every month. I don't how many kilo of chicken's head & dog biscuit. Not to mention medical expenses and toileteries too!!! But despite it all, it's nice to have dogs around especially when they love to bark! Hahha...make you feel safe.
But unfortunately, out of 11, now only 4 of them left. Most of them die due to ill hearted human being who has bad intention & since the dog got in the way, they decide to terminate them first. I wish I know these people and make them pay what they did. Just now, my dad decide to add more dog and he's looking for a BIG & FIERCE one. Hehhe...
My brother ...aka...the dog feeder! Hahaha...

End of one journey lead to a start of another journey..
Wow...it has been a very long time since I pay my visit here. You see, I am not an avid blogger but I will try my best to at least update this blog once a month!!!
Hmm..what's new?? Oh yes...I am officially Dr. Olesen!!! I have dreamt of this so called bitter sweet journey to end & finally 2weeks ago it has become a reality. My aim to have a PhD degree before I am 35 years old has come true. I am truly grateful of course to none other than my husband because of his endless support during this journey. Never once did he stop believing in me & for that I am very bless to have him as my true soulmate.

Finally I get to wear the round head aka hunter. As usual, the robe is big although it's an S size and it is heavy. I guess the heaviness is the same with the heavy burden that I need to carry along to complete this journey.
Receiving my scroll from Raja Nazrin...jangan jeles uols!
One for the group. Luckily one of my friend show up & help me to take this picture. Hehehe...cant wait to take the robe off because it was so damn hot! So, the journey has come to an end. I started with joy and I can happily said, I end it with joy. The in between..is belakang kira. Hahah...Now I am closing one chapter in my life and I will open another new chapter with new challenges. I am afraid, worry and anxious what the future will bring but I am very sure I will never walk alone...aiseh..heheh..

Waiting..planning...
After been busy with my thesis for the past 2.5 yrs, my sudden 'freeness' is so foreign for me. This period of waiting making me so uncertain about my life. FYI, I just submitted my 1st revision of my paper & my 3rd draft (hopefully my last one before submitting my 3 months notice form) to my supervisor. So, now I am waiting for her 'positive' feedback & get on with the correction. Yes, I know there will be some corrections. I do hope, it will be minor correction and not major because I do have a dream that I can start the submission process before I am leaving again to Denmark for Christmas.
What I do everyday?Hmm..well, for now I am still quite busy meeting up with my friends after been away for 3months. Lots of catching up to do & gossip to share. We just had our usual food gathering at my place last weekend & it was a blast! Lots of laughter & fun as usual. Oh yes, I am busy applying and eyeing the job market too. After 5 years of 'vacation' I do feel anxious and nervous thinking about going for work again. The thought of going through series of interview get my palm sweating as well because this time, I am not going to join the field that I left previously. Hell, my last interview was more almost 10 years ago! I feel like I am freshly graduate (well, technically I am) individual who will be working for the first time.
Hmm..what else I will do?? Well, we'll see. I always come out with something. But I do wish one thing, that I have a private jet so I can go to Denmark anytime especially when I miss my other half. Ah yes..I will try my hand in making Sarawak layer cake somewhere this week. I never want to do it before because of the work that involve in making it. But out of the blue today I thought, I should do it.
OK..that's about it for today. I am off to do some reading. Daaaa..

Back to Asia
I am finally back in kl after spend 3 months in Denmark. I just can't believe how hot the weather is back here. The moment I walked out from the air plane, I was already greeted with the hot, humid & stuffy weather of KL. Even the airport does not feel cold at all for me & as a result, I am sweating even in an air condition's place. I guess I was born to live in a cold climate.
After a long 24 hours journey including 13 hours sitting on a plane, I am so knacked and groggy & feeling so dirty. All I need at that moment is a cold shower & a nice soft bed to lay down on. Waiting for the luggage for almost 1hr, I just can't wait to be at home. I was a bit worry that my luggage might on its way to Jakarta. hahaha...because the flight that I am on, is actually on the way to Jakarta. They only transit in KL for 30min. Thank God that my sister is already waiting for me at the train station & thanks to her, I also have my dinner prepared! She even clean the house the day before so it won't be so dusty after 3 months of being unattended. Thank God for sister. :)
Today, I woke up early because I need to clean the house thoroughly; the rooms & balcony. Man...am I tired. Haven't got over my jet lagged and I am already busting my ass cleaning and scrubbing the house! Well, I just can't stand the dust & knowing that I have not do any cleaning for so long so I put my tiredness behind & get to work. So, I can rest for the remaining of the day. Tomorrow, it another busy day so I should rest well today.
Ahh..my friend call & she asked me for dinner! Got to go. See ya ..

Saturday chat..
I have been silent for a while from here because it has been some sort of busy weeks for me. I have been busy reading my own thesis & correcting what needed to be corrected. Have to make sure every single details are look at because my 'bos' has the tendency to spot the minor mistake & after few spotted mistake, she will dismiss it as not good at all, without even reading the rest. That is why I end up amending things a few times and I realised that sometimes, the changes goes in a circle mode.
Anyway, I have submitted my 3rd draft & hopefully, that will be my last draft. At least in term of major changes because literally, I do not have so much of time left. At the same time, I also submitted one paper, which I hope will get publish in one of the reputable bioethics journal. Keep my finger cross for that. Now, it is not in my hand. I have done my part & I hope it be good news. As I always told myself, I will give my Best, the Rest I leave it to God.
This is my last weekend in Denmark. My three months stay has come to an end. I will have to endure the long hours journey on Monday. I hate long haul flight because it's very tiring. Luckily now they have a direct flight from here to Amsterdam without going through Denmark main airport in Copenhagen. At least I will only have one change of flight & I do not have to carry my luggage because it will be check in all the way to KL. Each time I have to fly off, the only thing that I really look forward to is the moment when I am landed at the destination & a nice comfortable sleep on my own bed! As usual, I will travel alone. My other half will not be with me because he has no holiday left except for Christmas. I don't really feel so sad because I'll be back here again in Dec. So, it will only be for 2 months. Furthermore, I am looking forward to settle the MAJOR part of my PhD; the starting of my thesis submission.
Well, FYI PhD thesis submission took a very long time. According to the email I received last week, the formality of thesis submission for PhD will take at least 5-7months. That provided everything goes well & only require minor changes. So, I am praying so hard that my process will be as smooth as possible. There are too many protocol & approval to go through not only for me but for my supervisor. So, hopefully, it be smooth for both of us. And in the time being, I pray that I can find a suitable job too. I think after 5 years of 'vacation', I just can't wait to go back to the workforce. Furthermore, I have two major party to do after I finish my viva & convocation next year.Hheeh..it be nice if I am able to pay for it instead of having my hubby to sponsor it.
We will be staying in this weekend, just spend time with each other. I literally have pack my stuff. Won't bring so much this time because I'll be back.Just brought my shorts, jeans & a couple of baby tee because according to my friends back in Malaysia, it is HOT back home. So, I better enjoy this cold weather before I am heading to the OVEN!
